International Radiowave Oceanography Workshop (ROW2012)

Thank you to all who participated in ROW 2014
The final program may be viewed at:

This web page is meant to serve as a meeting point for the marine science community members involved with applications of radio wave instruments to coastal oceanography problems. This includes application of high frequency (HF) radar technology to the mapping of ocean surface currents and waves by instruments commonly known by the brand names CODAR/Seasonde or WERA. HF radar installations, in particular installations related to wide-area observing systems, are an important activity at this time in the U.S. and elsewhere. ROW is an opportunity to exchange plans and results from those efforts, including, for example, the national planning taking place at US IOOS, the state-wide Coastal Ocean Currents Monitoring Program (COCMP), and international efforts, such as the Italy/Croatia program in the northern Adriatic Sea and the Australian observing system (ACORN). As always, ROW is also an opportunity to exchange scientific results based on mapping ocean currents or waves using shore-based HF radar systems.

The 11th International Radiowave Workshop venue has been set! The conference will take place on 17-19 April 2012 in Toulon, France under the sponsorship of Toulon University and the french Institut National des Sciences de l'Univers.

The local organizing group is part of the LSEET laboratory, which has become part of the Mediterranean Institute of Oceanography (MIO) as of 1 January 2012.

ROW-2012 will be held in the old port of Toulon at the Palais Neptune conference center. The workshop will be a formal component of Journées Scientifiques de l’Université du Sud Toulon-Var. The registration and presentation request deadline is 1 April 2012.

We look forward to seeing you at ROW-2012
