Welcome to our home away from home!
Enjoy the mountains and all they have to offer: skiing, hiking, swimming, golf, mountain biking, crisp air, sunshine, wildflowers, adventure, and lots of snow. You’ll be just 18 miles north of Lake Tahoe, 5 miles from Donner Lake, and ~1 mile from the Tahoe Donner Downhill and Cross Country Ski Areas. And then kick back and enjoy the cozy woodstove or savor the sunny patio and burbling stream, surrounded by meadow and forest.
We ask that you look through the pages of this website for information about using the house. The weather in the mountains is tough on houses and we depend on your help to keep ours safe. Details about the house are in the House Info series of pages. Our suggestions for things to do are in the Fun Guide pages. Tahoe Donner HOA offers many resort amenities to homeowners and guests, both winter and summer. However they are rather strict about their rules. Please familiarize yourself with those rules and what to do in an emergency.
The house:
Three bedrooms sleep 8, with overflow for 4 children in the living room. Three full baths; gourmet kitchen; wireless internet; two-car garage and level driveway. Sunny lot with seasonal stream, greenbelt on two sides, and trail access nearby. Non-smoking. Well-behaved pets welcome.
Reservations:
We make the house available only to friends and family, and reserve the right to refuse requests. A calendar shows the nights the house is spoken for (day of departure is the following day.) An empty night does not guarantee availability. Please contact us to put your name on the calendar. We are compliant with the Truckee TOT and TTBID tax and STR laws (see Payments page).
Arriving and departing:
Lock-box and alarm system info is on the Security System and Electronics page. In winter, water should be shut off and the water heater turned down when the house is vacant; that and winter-specific info are on the Winter info page. Cleaning, laundry, garbage/recycling, and etc. are on the All year page. When you arrive, look for the 3-ring binder entitled “Info for Renters”, which has arrival and departure checklists, a copy of these pages, and information the Town of Truckee and the Tahoe Donner HOA want us to share with you.
