10th International Radiowave Oceanography Workshop (ROW-10)

This web page is meant to serve as a meeting point for the marine science community members involved with applications of radio wave instruments to coastal oceanography problems. This includes application of high frequency (HF) radar technology to the mapping of ocean surface currents and waves by instruments commonly known by the brand names CODAR/Seasonde or WERA. HF radar installations, in particular installations related to wide-area observing systems, are an important activity at this time in the U.S. and elsewhere. ROW-10 will be an opportunity to exchange plans and results from those efforts, including, for example, the national planning taking place at NOAA/IOOS, the state-wide Coastal Ocean Currents Monitoring Program (COCMP), and international efforts, such as the Italy/Croatia program in the northern Adriatic Sea and the Australian observing system (ACORN). As always, ROW-10 will also be an opportunity to exchange scientific results based on mapping ocean currents or waves using shore-based HF radar systems.

ROW is returning to its roots where the first workshop was held: Timberline Lodge, Mt Hood, Oregon. The 10th annual workshop will be held 26-29 September, 2010.

Important Dates:

26 August: Timberline Lodging Cut-Off

See the Logistics web page for instructions.

The date has passed for guaranteed rates.

If Timberline Lodge rooms are not available,

check out the Mount Hood Inn.

1 September: Abstract Submission Deadline

The submission deadline has passed, but talks are still welcome

on all aspects of the application of high frequency (HF) radar

observations in oceanography as the final schedule is still being

produced. Please see the Registration web page.

20 September: Final schedule of presentations and events will be

    released.

Immediately prior to ROW-10 will be the 57th Eastern Pacific Ocean Conference (EPOC), which will also be held in Timberline Lodge 22-25 September. In addition, the Marine Technology Society will be holding its Oceans 10 conference in nearby Seattle on 20-23 September.
